Economic Strengthening as a Means for the Integration of Refugees IDPs and Returnees

In June 2012. ENECA has started with activities on the project “Economic Strengthening as a Means for the Integration of Refugees IDPs and Returnees” financed by the European Union through the Delegation of the EU to the Republic of Serbia and co-financed by targeted cities and municipalities.


The main aim of the project is to contribute to resolving the problems of refugees, IDPs and returnees in the Republic of Serbia by increasing their employment opportunities through income generation activities, business and vocational trainings and follow up/coaching.

Assistance for resolving the problems of refugees, IDPs and returnees will be exclusively provided within the frame of existing national and local strategies with a strong involvement of Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia, as a beneficiary institution and local authorities into the decision making process.

Within the Project, 80 refugee, IDP or returnee families will be supported to start or develop their businesses.

Support will include:

  1. donation of equipment and/or material average value of 2,000 EUR
  2. organization of business and vocational trainings according to the beneficiary needs,
  3. business advisory services.

ENECA will select the beneficiaries of the Project in close cooperation with the Commissariat for Refugees of the Republic of Serbia and targeted municipalities. Refugees, IDPs, returnees and extremely vulnerable local population will be given special consideration depending on viability of the suggested business ideas.
